Select Your Private Cloud Server
PCS Server Options:
Single Drive (PCS #1): With a Single Drive, there is no hard drive redundancy in your Private Cloud Server for a hard drive failure. A Single Drive is cheaper, but your Private Cloud Server will be unavailable to your users if the hard drive fails. When this happens, all your data is lost requiring you to rely on a backup to recover your data.
Single Drive Expandable to RAID 1 (PCS #2): If you know you want to have fault tolerance in your Personal Cloud Server but want to save some initial costs, you can select this server option and then add the redundant hard drive later to achieve a RAID 1 configuration.
RAID 1 (PCS #3): With RAID 1, there is hard drive redundancy in your Private Cloud Server. If you experience a single hard drive failure, your Private Cloud Server will remain up running – available to your users so they can do their work. The failed hard drive can be replaced and no data will be lost.
Backup: There are many inexpensive options for backing up your data. You should have a good data backup process for your Private Cloud Server running a Single Drive or a RAID 1 configuration.
